CfP: ACPS Conference

National Chengchi University, Taipei, invites paper proposals for an international conference on the theme Peaceful Development and Deepening Integration in the Greater China Region. The College of International Affairs, National Chengchi University (CIA-NCCU)  and the Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS) will co-organize an international conference at National Chengchi University between June 11 and 12, 2009. Conference organizers invite papers which investigate any aspect of the integration in the great China region under the new political environment that has emerged in recent months.

Please send proposals no later than December 31, 2008. Paper proposals should include paper title, names of authors, institutional affiliation, title/position, mailing address, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, and an abstract of 250-300 words – everything in one page.  Paper proposals should be emailed to both Dr. Chung-chian Teng at ccteng@nccu.edu.tw and Dr. Baogang Guo at bguo@daltonstate.edu.  To facilitate the selection process, it is hoped that authors can put "2009 ACPS-NCCU conference paper proposal" in the subject line of the emails.

Chadwick F. Alger Prize

The International Organization Section of ISA invites nominations for the Chadwick F. Alger Prize. The prize recognizes the best book published in the previous calendar year on the subject of international organization and multilateralism. The Award Committee is particularly interested in works dealing with how international organizations interact with nongovernmental organizations and other local civil society actors, as reflected in many of the writings of Chadwick F.
