April 24-25 2008, Ballroom (Manoir) at Glendon College York University: ‘Canada and the Americas: Multidisciplinary perspectives on Transculturality’ is a multilingual international colloquium featuring leading scholars from distinct Latin American countries, Quebec and Ontario. The conference program can be accessed online and consists of five consecutive panels from 8AM to 6 PM distributed over two days on: (1) Multiculturalism, Interculturality and Transculturality; (2) Migration in Global Cities; (3) Hemispheric Imaginaries and (4) Experiences of Translation in the Americas. A fifth panel hosting all four panel coordinators and conference honor president Alain Touraine will conclude the event with a dialogical synthesis.
Breakfasts and Coffee Breaks are included in conference registration. Registration is $5.00 for one or both days for Glendon College Students (thanks to a GCSU Subsidy). For Students (any University/College etc.) Registration is $15.00/day or $25.00 for both. For any other registrants registration is $30.00/day or $55.00 for both.
