Dear Colleague,
I want to remind you that the application deadline for submission of papers and panel proposals for the second meeting of the WISC conference is rapidly approaching (November 30th). You can see the call for papers, the theme of the conference, and can apply at: http://www.wiscnetwork.org/.
As you will recall, WISC is a collaborative enterprise of some three dozen international studies associations including ISA. Its first conference in Istanbul two years ago was a substantial success and next year we expect the meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia (July 23-26) to be even more so. The WISC conference is meant to broaden cooperation and collaboration across the global community of international studies scholars and seeks to bring together academics from around the globe.
In order to allow younger scholars to participate, ISA has set aside a small budget for travel support for international conferences where ISA is a substantial partner. This is one of those. These funds are meant to be seed money (roughly $250 to $300 per successful application), to be used in conjunction with other funds that applicants would secure for their travel. We will post the link for travel grant applications for ISA members only on the WISC website around the time that the program chairs select participants for the program.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
With
regards,
Tom Volgy
