Scholars At Risk Speakers

Scholars At Risk has released the list of scholars available for speaking events on U.S. campuses during the coming academic year.  Events featuring threatened scholars are a great way to educate the community, to show local support for academic freedom, and to help scholars make contacts that may lead to future opportunities.  A summary list is available on the SARS website.  The full list is available to SAR member representatives using their login/passwords. The Scholars at Risk Network (SAR) is an international network of universities and colleges responding to attacks on scholars working in repressive countries. SAR promotes academic freedom and defends the human rights of scholars and their communities worldwide.

Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS)

ISA welcomes the Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS) as affiliated cooperating organization. Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS), formerly Chinese Scholars of Political Science and International Studies, is a non-profit, non-political organization for scholarly and professional ativities.  ACPS was founded in 1986 in the United States to promote academic exchange among Chinese sccholars and American scholars of China studies. In 1995, the organization changed its name to Association of Chinese Political Studies, and since then the organization is for all who study Chinese politics. Currently the organization has over 400 members from various parts of the world. Eighty percent of them are male and 20% of them are female. ACPS publishes scholarly books, newsletters, and a refereed academic journal -- Journal of Chinese Political Science.

ISAC-ISSS 2007 Conference

The draft program for ISAC-ISSS 2007 Conference has been posted to our website in PDF.  The conference organizers have received over 150 paper and panel submissions and there is a growing waiting list for potential cancellations. Please register for the conference early to assist the conference organizers and to take advantage of the lower rate. The registration fee covers two receptions, one lunch, one dinner, and 3 coffee breaks. Registration Fee: US$159 (until August 31, 2007); after September 1, 2007: US$189. Registrations may be made from the International Security Studies Section website.
