Under a new agreement, the quarterly journal International Interactions will be managed by the International Studies Association. Thus, the ISA Publications Committee is calling for proposals from individuals or teams to succeed Prof. Jacek Kugler as editor. Only those with university positions and access to university resources should apply. Duties will likely commence in late 2008 or early 2009 for a five year term. The Executive Committee of the International Studies Association will make a recommendation to the organization’s Governing Council regarding the assignment of editorial duties for International Interactions at the 2008 annual meetings in San Francisco.
For parties interested in submitting a proposal: A mission statement for the journal can be accessed here. Likewise, a description of editorial duties, and guidelines for proposal writers may be found on that same page. A recommendation for new editors must be given by the Publications Committee to the Executive Committee by December 31, 2007.
Appointment of the new Editor(s) will be approved at the 2008 ISA meetings for a five year term beginning in 2009. There will also be some transitional duties during late 2008. The International Studies Association will provide a subvention to the Editor(s) of approximately $15,000 annually to support the editorial project. Applications should be submitted to Brian M. Pollins, ISA Publications Committee Chair, in electronic form only, please at pollins.1@osu.edu . Applications should be received no later than October 31, 2007, although applications will be accepted until an appointment is recommended by the committee.
Questions about the process of selecting the editor(s) or the editorial duties involved are likely addressed in materials found on the web page listed above. Any additional questions are welcome, and may be addressed to the Chair of the Publications Committee, Brian M. Pollins, at pollins.1@osu.edu, or (614) 309-1867. Women and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. ISA is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
