ISA Achievement Awards

Trophy
ISA strives to recognize outstanding scholarship and contributions to the field of international studies. The Karl Deutsch Award is presented annually to a scholar in IR judged to have made, through a body of publications, the most significant contribution to the study of International Relations and Peace Research. The Quincy Wright Distinguished Scholar Award is given annually to a scholar who has significantly influenced the ISA-Midwest region. The Susan Strange Award recognizes a person whose singular intellect, assertiveness, and insight most challenge conventional wisdom and intellectual and organizational complacency in the international studies community. Our Deborah Gerner Teaching Award honors an instructor who has developed effective new approaches to teaching in the discipline. And finally, the Deborah Gerner Professional Development Grant is presented by the Women's Caucus of ISA to inspire and support those promising to make great contributions to the field.
