CISS/IDSS Bologna 2017 - Conference Summary

Our section held a very successful conference on Cooperation and Contestation in World Politics, in collaboration with the School of Political Sciences and the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna. The Conference took place in Bologna, Italy, June 28-30. We had a total of 29 sessions (1 plenary and 28 panels) with 111 participants. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues Steve Rosow and Tina Mavrikos-Adamou for all their work and assistance in the preparation of this conference. We plan to produce a book based on selected papers presented at the conference and we are in communication with a publisher who has expressed a strong interest in this project.

CISS 2017 Bologna Program Update

The final version of the program is ready. Please visit the Program and Events link to the left to view the conference program. We will have a limited number of hard copies, so we strongly advise printing it yourself and/or saving a digital version. As you will see, the number of panelists in each concurrent session varies slightly. Please note that you will need to limit your presentation to between 10 and 12 minutes depending on the number of presenters in your session (the same is true for those serving as discussants). Power Point capabilities are available in each conference room. Please bring your Power Point slides on a flash drive. In addition, please make sure that you send your draft papers to your panel discussants as soon as possible and definitely not later than Tuesday, June 20th. Next week, we will send you a logistics memo that would include information about the city of Bologna and about the opening reception, which will be held on the evening of Wednesday, June 28th, right after the opening plenary session.

Registration has been reopened. To remain on the final program all must register no later than June 21.

We look forward to seeing you all in Bologna!
