ISA Midwest St. Louis 2014 - Proposal Deadline Reminder

The deadline for proposals to the ISA-Midwest Conference is July 1st. We're expecting a really exciting conference this year at the Hilton Ballpark in St. Louis, November 7th-9th. We're using ISA's submission software for the first time this year when planning the conference - the process does require you to make a free account with ISA.  Please feel free to send me an email (Amanda Murdie at murdiea@missouri.edu) if I can help in any way with your submission. Can't wait to see you there!

ISA NE 2014 Invites Applications for One-Day Graduate Student Workshop

The International Studies Association-Northeast Region invites applications for a One-Day Graduate Student Workshop, “Interpretive and Relational Research Methodologies". The workshop will be held in conjunction with the International Studies Association-Northeast’s annual conference, which will take place from 7-8 November in Baltimore, Maryland. Although all attendees of the conference may come to the workshop sessions, the 6-8 graduate students officially participating in the workshop will have the opportunity to receive detailed feedback and specialized instruction in the methodologies under discussion.

The ISA West 2014 Conference will be held in Pasadena, California, USA on September 26-27, 2014. The theme of the conference is Interdisciplinary Approaches to International Studies. ISA West 2014 Registration Open!

Registration for the 2014 ISA-West conference, to be held September 26 and 27 in Pasadena, CA, is now open. Registration fees include participation in the Friday evening reception, featuring the current ISA president, as well as the Saturday luncheon. (Please note that you should pre-register online in order to be guaranteed lunch.) If you are on the program, you must register by July 18, 2014, in order to remain on the program unless alternate arrangements have been made.

Update on ISA Global South Conference

Many of you have been somewhat anxiously awaiting our decision as to a change of venue for the GSCIS conference scheduled to be held in Bangkok in January 2015. As everyone is aware, the military has taken control of Thailand and the space for free and open discussion, including academic interchange, has been narrowed considerably. We are now able to announce that the venue has been changed to nearby Singapore. Our new host will be the Singapore Management University which has graciously not only stepped into the breach but also has contributed added funds to host this important conference. We are delighted to be able to transfer the site to such a central and culturally significant country which has been the source of so many ideas for study and emulation politically, economically, and diplomatically, in the global south.

English School Working Groups

The English School Section (ENGSS) of the International Studies Association seeks to reach out to scholars throughout the world who are interested in the study of international society with the purpose of bringing them together and involving them in its research, publications and conference activities. To this end, interested colleagues are invited to join one or more (depending on your research interests) of the English School Working Groups.
