An updated conference program has been up loaded on the ISA West site.  Due to some withdrawals, I have had to reassign a few papers into another panel.  Also, please note that some discussants have been elevated to the chair role as well. Please submit your paper to your discussant no later than Friday, September 11th for their review. Thank you, and see you Pasadena!

This forum, held on the morning of the first day of the ISA-West conference, will place four small groups of four emerging scholars with a senior person in the field. The panels will be oriented around themes such international security, international political economy, international ethics, and international relations theory. The final composition of the panels will reflect the actual proposals received. The junior scholars will make brief presentations of their work, which will be followed by comments from the senior discussant and a broader discussion of their work and its relationship to the relevant subfield.

Funding pending from ISA's Professional Development Committee, funds would be used to cover one-half night at the conference hotel. To be eligible, all participants must be ISA members and registered for the 2015 ISA-West conference. Interested participants should indicate their desire to participate when submitting proposals.

The International Studies Association West Region is pleased to announce our 2015 annual conference, September 25th - 26th, in Pasadena, California, USA. ISA-West invites paper, panel and roundtable proposals on any subject related to international studies, broadly defined. Particularly welcome are submissions related to our 2015 conference theme, “Innovations and Challenges in Teaching and Learning in a Globalizing World Order.” Our conference continues its collaboration with ISA sections International Ethics and Active Learning in International Affairs. In addition, ISA-West will award the Ole Holsti Disinguished Scholar Award, given annually to a scholar who has significantly influenced the ISA West region through an outstanding record of research, teaching and mentorship, as well as service to the International Studies Association West region. This year's recipient is Dr. Jacek Kugler.

ISA West is also pleased to announce its call for nominations for the 2016 ISA West annual conference chair. The conference program chair will serve as the ISA West President beginning in December 2017. Nominations and self nominations are welcome. Please send nominations to Carolyn James, ISA West President.

Paper, panel and roundtable proposals are being accepted until the May 20th deadline. ISA-West continues to have paper awards and limited travel grants available to ISA members only. Any questions about the conference should be directed to the conference program chair, Lui Hebron.

This year ISA-West will continue its Emerging Scholars Forum (ESF, funding pending). Senior graduate students and junior faculty are encouraged to apply when submitting paper proposals for the program. Similar to ISA's Junior Scholar Symposium, this is a valuable opportunity to receive in-depth feedback from a senior scholar at a regional conference.

The International Studies Association

Representing over 100 countries, ISA has more than 6,500 members worldwide and is the most respected and widely known scholarly association in this field. Endeavoring to create communities of scholars dedicated to international studies, ISA is divided into 6 geographic subdivisions of ISA (Regions), 29 thematic groups (Sections) and 4 Caucuses which provide opportunities to exchange ideas and research with local colleagues and within specific subject areas.
