As part of a new initiative, ISA Headquarters began a new partnership with local university students in the summer of 2015. This housed within the Digital Media and Design department at UCONN, and provides students with experiential learning and real-world challenges, while offering ISA innovative options for the digital age.

At the 2016 ISA Annual Convention in Atlanta, this team participated in several audio and video recording projects onsite. In addition to these products, the team put together a brief glimpse of their experience Behind the Scenes of ISA.

The Program Chair and Section Program Chairs have been working hard all summer to craft a stimulating program for our 2017 Annual Convention in Baltimore next February. The preliminary program launches next Friday, September 16th.

In advance of the release, we're delighted to release a short video, filmed onsite at ISA 2016. See why ISA members and participants are excited about the ISA Annual Convention, and what they're looking forward to in February.

Welcome to the second installment of the ISA Sapphire Series! The Sapphire Series is designed to highlight key issues in the field and in international affairs. These talks bring together featured scholars and practitioners to discuss current world events, trends in academic research, and new challenges in teaching and learning. These sessions have been recorded and made available to ISA members on our Professional Resource Center website.

ISA HQ is very pleased to announce the arrival of our newest team member, Dr. Kristy A. Belton. Kristy received her PhD in 2014 in political science and was most recently a post-doctoral fellow in the Human Rights Center at the University of Dayton. At ISA HQ, Kristy will be working closely with all staff members, but especially on the programming side of our operations with Lembe Tiky and Alex Walker. Among the projects specifically under Kristy’s charge are the Career Courses, Innovative Panels, and the Early Career Scholar Town Hall among other projects throughout the year.

As the ISA community knows, Dr. Andrea Gerlak has been a central figure around our Association for many years as a member, but also as a highly valued member of the headquarters staff since 2006. But now it is time for Andrea to move on to a faculty position in the Geography Department at the University of Arizona starting this fall semester. So it is with much regret that ISA bids farewell to Andrea at HQ, but we wish her well in the coming years in this next phase of her professional and scholarly life. Please join us all in wishing her well in the weeks, months and years ahead.
