The Ad Hoc Committee on Virtual Engagement invites proposals for panels and papers that could benefit from the creative use of virtual engagement tools (like video conferencing, real-time updates through social media, live feeds, video streams, etc). These panels and papers can cover topics related to virtual engagement but the Committee is interested in any international studies scholarship that would like to incorporate virtual engagement tools in their ISA presentation.

ISA is pleased to announce our Call for Proposals for our 2018 Annual Convention in San Francisco, California, USA! Our theme this year is Power of Rules and Rule of Power. ISA President, Brett Ashley Leeds, took some time in Baltimore to share some insight into the theme and her hopes for ISA's next Annual Convention.

The International Studies Association announces the deadline for 2017 – 2018 grants to support workshops for collaborative research that is new and innovative and involves scholars who are drawn from the global international studies community.

Workshops are no longer required to be held in conjunction with the ISA Annual Convention (to be held in San Francisco, California, April 4-7, 2018). They may be held at an alternate location or time, almost anywhere in the world.

At the most recent meeting of the ISA Governing Council this past February in Baltimore, the Governing Council approved several changes to ISA Policy.

Now that we all have hopefully recovered from a stimulating, but exhausting, week in Baltimore, it makes sense to mention a number of highlights and outcomes from the annual meeting.

The International Studies Association

Representing over 100 countries, ISA has more than 6,500 members worldwide and is the most respected and widely known scholarly association in this field. Endeavoring to create communities of scholars dedicated to international studies, ISA is divided into 6 geographic subdivisions of ISA (Regions), 29 thematic groups (Sections) and 4 Caucuses which provide opportunities to exchange ideas and research with local colleagues and within specific subject areas.
