PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING DETAILS AND DEADLINES:

  • August 31: Early registration deadline. This is the last day to receive the early registration discount on registration fees.
  • September 7: Late registration deadline and last day to confirm your participation in the program. If you have not registered by this time, you will be dropped from the program, although you may, of course, still register to attend.
  • September 7: Last day to cancel and get a refund of your registration fee. Note that all refunds from ISA are subject to a 15% bank processing fee.
  • September 14: Last day for group rate at the Sheraton Springfield, unless the group block is sold-out prior to this date.
1. Confirmation & Registration

To remain on the program, you must register by September 7, 2015 . Please confirm your participation by registering at your earliest convenience. Registration can be handled through the ISA conference website at: http://www.isanet.org/Conferences/ISSS-ISAC-Springfield-2015. You do not need to be a member of ISA to register for the conference, but you will need to set up an account in the ISA system.

We encourage you to register as soon as possible: http://www.isanet.org/Conferences/ISSS-ISAC-Springfield-2015/Register

Also, if you know at this point that you will NOT be able to attend, please send me a note at jwestern@mtholyoke.edu

2. Hotel Reservations

Participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. The conference will be held at the Springfield Monarch Sheraton Hotel in Springfield, MA. We have arranged great rates for the hotel – only $119/night (wifi included) – but this rate is limited. Please make your reservations as soon as possible to ensure you receive this rate.

Contact information for this hotel and a link to book the conference rate are posted on the conference website. When making your reservation, please be sure to note our group rate code: International Studies Association-ISSS/ISAC. The group rate will be available until September 14 or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.

To assist you with your travel schedule, please note that the conference will begin with an opening reception and roundtable discussion on Thursday, October 8 and will conclude with a panel session that ends at noon on Saturday, October 10.

Things to do in western New England and the Five College Area:

Springfield, MA is in the Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts. The conference is being held at the start of the Columbus Day Holiday Weekend and coincides with peak fall foliage season in Western New England. It is a beautiful time to be here. Springfield is a 30 minute drive from the heart of the Berkshires, 20 minutes from the annual Paradise City Arts festival in Northampton held the same weekend, and less than an hour drive from southern Vermont. If you are interested in extending your stay in New England and would like travel suggestions, Pioneer Valley Travel is a great resource for additional New England fall travel arrangements.

There is also plenty to do close to the hotel in Springfield. The Springfield Armory National Park, the National Basketball Hall of Fame, and the Springfield Museums are all short walks from the Sheraton Hotel. We are arranging special group tours for those who would like to visit the Springfield Armory on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 8.

We are looking forward to seeing you here this fall.

Hi, the flight tickets to Bradley International Airport are quite steep and I am self sponsoring. Is Boston Logan International Airport still okay? Would it be too difficult to find my way to the venue?
