The Fred Hartmann Award is given each year for the best paper presented at the conference by a graduate student. The A. LeRoy Bennet Award is given each year for the best paper presented by a scholar who holds a PhD.

Any paper presented at the conference can be nominated for one of the awards. Self-nominations are accepted. Nominations should be sent to Samuel Barkin at samuel.barkin@umb.edu, and should include the paper as an attachment. Nominations should be made by December 31, 2013.

Please let Samuel know if you have any questions about this process, and do not hesitate to nominate a paper, whether yours or someone else’s, that you think is award-worthy.
